lots to share ....

from the ice cream crop.... we are going until MOnday so we have plenty of time!!!

In the meantime... here is a little felt pouch I made for storing pins and needles... Needed something for my larger needles for paper as Im doing a ton of hand stitching lately!
isn't it cute??? used a barrette (that I can NEVER get ERin to wear! lol) to the front with a stitched ribbon through the center to tie it together and keep us safe...

on a more serious note.... praying and keeping my Californians in thought with all those fires... oh Mother nature... poor West coast air.... Im praying for some rain!

Keep them in your thoughts...

Not great at....

this blogging thing.... I need to get better... maybe summer will allow me to just relax more in the mornings and post a bit more!??

THis is the last week of school for the kiddos and between special lunches, field days, teachers gifts, birthday parties, neighborhood play dates etc.... Im ready for summer to come so we can just "do nothing"...

Today Erin and I are making a calendar of all that we want to do this summer and then we are able to check off our list as we do it...

I have my own lists of things Im trying to accomplish....:)

Scrappy related... been busy working on a number of projects I can't share quite yet but hopefully soon!

Today Im sharing some extra layouts and cards that were done... JUST BECAUSE ... lol Love getting those done and some pics of the chickens enjoying summer!

bag me with a spoon...

okay, nothing from the 80's... just remembering that silly phrase...

Here is a bag I did for a hero arts challenge... using their stamps...
papers are scenic route and pink paislee..

on a more serious note... I just wanted to ask everyone to keep The family of tim russert from NBC's Meet the Press in mind this Fathers day... I am very sad to hear of his passing. I really admired him. Not only was he a wonderful journalist , I found him fascinating as a memory story teller. His book about his father is a tribute and inspiration for all us who scrapbook...He shares his story so well...
He will be missed!

also, I already sent out cards and gifts but a very happy fathers day daddy!!!!
also, hope all dad's have a wonderful day... relax and be taken care of by your family!!!

and Happy fathers day to Jon and papa too!

paitently awaiting....

the fed ex man this am.... for another one of Jons collector rifles... hes' so funny when he gets into these "collections". Glad those things make him so happy. Some people spend a lifetime never truly finding passion in a hobby so we both feel so fortunate to have so many interests and the ability to enjoy the hobbies!

Headed up to the school for my last computer class ( I help teach in Erins classroom!) My favorite volunteer assignment of them all... will miss this!

97* and its muggy and miserable... but the sun is bright and it smells of sunscreen .. and we are air conditioned....
I am cleaning and then scrapping this afternoon... so much to catch up on...

peace...
happy monday! and a card that tells how iM feeling today!

CPS 67

... this is my example... feeling a bit patriotic... and I did another card for good measure using up some scraps! This is the layout that made the scraps...

tfl

I made it to 5!!

at Scrapperie Gauntlet contest... woo hoo... I really thought I was a goner.. lol since the talent is getting fierce! WE had to pick a layout that is art inspired and I chose a favorite artist Thomas Kinkade... the painter of light.. they just mesmerize me...For round 4 we had to be inspired by a piece of artwork ... I have always wanted to try this technique so this week was a perfect time to start!
I added a vintage grain filter to the photo in photo shop elements.... then printed it out onto watercolor paper.
I then played around with watercolors to accent some key areas of the photo to give it a more dreamy painted look rather than the flat "house" picture it was....
Its hard to see on a layout but in real life it now looks like a handpainted piece rather than a picture...

I used a journaling block from Mellette Berezowski's ETSy shop and some Cosmo Cricket chipboard
paper is SEI
letters are from AMerican Crafts (thickers)

Offto work on round 5... we have two weeks to work on a mini album! The competition gets fierce! wish me luck!
