A Year in Cards

so most of you that know me know I love love to make cards more than anything.... and I have been a "pea" hanging over at the Pub for over 7 years... I am finally starting to do some of the great educational classes that they offer...
Kristina Warner is an awesome cardmaker and a member of the garden over there and hosts this challenge
check out the deets here
This challenge we were to create a card that incorporates some sort of gift... so I was inspired by her sketches and created three cards.
The first one is a fold out card that has a pocket inside to hold a tea bag.. card says take 5... great for teachers , mothers day etc...
The second card I did the standard gift card holder inside a normal card front.. easy to make and it stays put great with the transparent pocket!
The third one is a fun one I thought up... I had found a template to make these little goody boxes (you can also buy them pre made at craft stores)  I adhered it to the front of scalloped cardstock and stuck the wrapped treats inside the cellophane bag inside...I thought these would be great party favors.

so... three cards done ;) this is a great system for getting cards done.. especially if you aren't entirely confident when it comes to cardmaking... Hope to see some of you play along !

Parisian Love

a layout for the latest Noel Mignon challenge...details are on their blog...

the papers and embellies in this Seaside kit are just divine!!! I knew how perfect it would be for me loving all things soft and shabby with a girlie vintage feel... I did this for the challenge inspired by the colors, the collagey picture and the script handwriting which just spoke to me.
Journaling reads: " I have this romantic notion of living amongst the City of Lights. I have always been fascinated by the culture of Paris...the elegant shabby chic style. From the romantic sounding language to the Euro French countryside.. what's not to love?
I dream of one day living in an apartment taking photographs by day, visiting the art studios of the Greats and spending evenings at the cafe's. What a beautiful life that could be"
I had fun with this kit and have more... oh many more :) to share with you soon.
Peace,
Kim

Sketchabilities sketch #9

is up.
This was the sketch we got to play with. I loved the layering on this one. This sketch was perfect for tons of pattern papers since there are just little bits showing against a solid background. The big scallop circular image was a great detail as well!

Here is my take    . I played around with some Bo Bunny, Pink Paislee, Fancy Pants rub ons and acetate overlay and some fun doilies for a lovey themed layout.
If you like the sketch... try it out and share your take...  on the blog  We would love to see your interpretation.
You can see everyone else's versions there as well!
Happy Monday!
Kim
