A few cards

Lately, I have been on a layout kick which is great since in 2009 I probably only completed a handful of layouts... Im back to trying to do one a day (at least) and learning to use my scraps to make some cards and scraps for my shop...
I have been longing to sit and make cards though.. which is my true passion so I was happy to make these...
First one is a simple stamped image on this Sassafrass journaling tag layered onto fun cardstock. The raffia bow was from a gift bag and I simply retied it to coordinate with my card
The purple pink card uses my Favorite Things stamp (bathtub) with Paper TRey ink flowers and polka dot paper... don't you just love that purple!!!
Its hard to tell, but there is quite a bit of glitter added to the tub ;)
Thought this would be a cute shower card for an upcoming wedding or baby to be.
Happy hump day friends!

The cutest

little challenge blog just popped up on scene... Its called the Shabby Tea Room.... The first challenge was to create something inspired by this picture...
Aren't these colors just yummy?  I love those padded chairs too....
I was reminded of my sweet little baby girl (who at 8 is definitely NOT my baby anymore...) but you momma's out there know that they always feel like your baby... and this pic reminds me of her sweetness and how happy I was the day I found out I was having a girl!

This is my layout inspired by above pic...

Don't you just love

the Middle of the month reveals?? I love seeing sneaks of the new kits / and /or the design teams inspiration behind them all...
As I sit tonight and listen to the rumble of thunder and soaking rains on my roof, I am going to share some layouts I created for Right AT Home Scrapbooking.
This month Lisa gave me the great Graphic 45 papers to play around with....
The first two layouts are from the Perfect Gentlemen line...love these rich bold colors....
This next layout features the gorgeous vintage line called Romantique... Here is one layout I created using this line
Off to a few of my favorite sites to check out the new kits and get inspired...
Peace,
Happy Mid Month of March ;)

Man that was a crazy week!!! WE had the list of family medical appointments... all of which had great results!! Thank you to all who prayed.. my mother in laws "spot" turned out to be a non invasive cyst... great news... My dad passed the stress test and is fit and strong with his age... the elevated blood pressure  may just be something they will monitor.. no blockage or surgery at least.. phew!!
The kids survived the dentist... in fact, this is probably the best visit we have had yet.. .and it has motivated me to make it a positive experience for him so we will do lots of "playing dentist" over the next few months

I had a very creative weekend... the weather was great... got to head outside and hear and smell spring... LOVE this time of year... so hopeful!

Here is a layout I created for a challenge over at RAHM I am hosting this week.
I used lots of flowers on this. They are created using bits of Graphic 45's Proper Gentleman line. I wanted to show how versatile a "mans" line can be... I punched different sized circles from the pattern papers, layered a neutral strip... added flowers, lace and gems to make it more feminine. Don't have any boys or men to scrapbook.. no problem... the rich colors can work in pieces and great for still life objects, nature etc...
This layout /challenge at Right AT Home is to find some inspiration from this art piece

This is Auguste Renoir's Mixed Flowers. I loved the rich color scheme. It amazed me how much detail he paints and the textures of the counter and flowers leads to a more masculine looking set of flowers. I thought this was great range of colors and random mix of flowers (which I prefer... very European style!) ;)
See if this artwork speaks to you and create something with it... more details on the challenge here
Hope the day is beginning to feel like spring where you are.. I am soaking up the sun today.
Peace,
Kim

week of craziness

I should be so stressed this week... some big changes, prayers for my daddy and my mother in law with some health concerns and the usual stuff... but Im just too busy to worry!!! That may be a godsend this week...
I made this little card and am hanging it on the fridge to get me through this crazy week...nervous for family, happy for friends and missing people like crazy...
Happy March everyone!!
